  1. I think the brick and mortar store is safer. Ebay has a sale on invisible engagement rings.

  2. local definaetly NOT online

  3. offline seems safer, who’s the lucky lady?

  4. in a store !!!!! you can check out the size and quality of the diamond , for a purchase as personal as a ring an online shop is not a good idea.congrats for the occassion.

  5. Go to the store. You are going to want to look at the stone, to see the color, clarity, and cut. You can not get a really good look at these aspects online. You also know exactly what you are buying, not what you believe someone is trying to sell you. Also consider buying a loose stone and having it set, you can get more for your money that way. Congrats, and good luck!

  6. If the lady is special enough for you to ask her to marry you, she’s special enough for a local shop.

  7. local.. you want to make sure of the 3 C’s.. cut, clarity, and carats.. can’t really do that online..

  8. Local Brick & Mortar store?? (You sure you are really ready to make this commitment????) You really should consider buying at a local jewler. This is a very important purchase if anything were to go wrong you (or she) would want to get the repairs done as quickly as possible. Having to send something back through the mail is not always the safest way to do things. Also if you order online, how do you really know if the seller is reputable or not!! Hope this helps

  9. As long as it is a reputable site you can get a very good deal online. My ring is from . It appraised (for insurance) much higher than my fiance paid for it. You can also search a wide range of diamonds at the same time. The Cs are all important, and bluenile has a good educational section (including on other things that influence the quality). And remember that sometimes bigger is not necessarily better. A 2-carat diamond with poor clarity and cut will look worse than a 1/2 carat ideal cut, D color (colorless), nearly flawless diamond.
    Good luck!

  10. local store definitely! coz, its an expensive thing, u should survey the market, see it keeping in hand, judge and than buy…..

  11. I would buy it at a local store. I’ve seen investigations on TV that showed what a rip off some of the rings online are. Plus, that’s alot of money to spend to not see something before you buy it.

  12. Online because you get better deals and the returns aren’t a problem, try at Ice.com, also get a 15% off coupon at for a discount

  13. Buy the ring were ever you can get the best price. My ring came from bidz.com and it is worth triple what he paid for it. I would look online and in some stores some run good sales.

Good Luck with the ring hunt it is not easy.

  14. You can go online and find beautiful rings at great prices. We got my ring from a reputable seller on ebay and paid $300 for a brand new .36 carat, H, SI1 diamond, and I absolutely love it. Once you get the ring, take it to a local jewelry store to be apparised and make sure you got what you paid for. Be sure that the online seller will allow you to return if the item is not what was described.

  15. It is cheaper to buy an engagement ring online because online stores have much lower overhead compared to the local brick and mortar store, and thus they can pass the savings to their customers.

BlueNile.com is probably the store you should be buying your engagement ring from if you intend to buy online. They are a very established and reputable company and they own the online market for diamond engagement rings.

Before buying diamonds online, it would be essential to know how diamonds are graded and how grading affects diamond prices. This is because diamond specifications are all you can ’see’ online and it is the specifications that determine the price of the diamond.

And be sure to buy a GIA or AGS certified diamond.

  16. As long as the place is reputable it doesn’t matter, make sure there is a reasonable return policy.

Learning the 4 Cs is important. One most people forget is the quality of the cut.

You may pay more at a brick and mortar, but you make get free services like resizing and cleaning the ring.

I bought online, just the diamond and had it set locally.

    I bought at.
