I use warm water (about a cup) a big splash of ammonia and a drop of dish washing liquid. Mix it all up but careful not to huff it. Let your ring soak in it for quite some time, even overnight if you want. Then scrub it with an old toothbrush. Even better, if you have an electric toothbrush and a worn out head, use that. Dip it in the solution throught out to make sure the brush is loaded up with it. It’s amazing. Your ring will look new. And, it works WAY better than toothpaste. I’ve tried both.
Here is a great way to clean your rings and jewellery. My wife uses it to clean hers and it always looks great. The good part is too that it uses things that you will probably have round the house anyway such as washing up liquid.
I have attached two links, one gives details on how to safely and effectively clean your jewellery in a safe way ( the one my wife uses), the other is about does and don’t for jewellery. They are both worth reading to make your jewellery look as good as possible and give it as long a life as possible, (Jewellery cleaning information). (guide to care of your jewellery).
