How much is a 1 carat Diamond Ring worth?
cristanine asked:
I was approached by a male last night at a club wanting $100.00 for a Diamond Ring. I gave him $30.00 for it. My friends say that Diamond Ring is hot because it is real. I don’t know what to do, I am leary about taking it to get it appraised because if it is hot I could get in trouble for buying merchandise hot off a robbery or something. Anyhow, I have the Diamond Ring and it is beautiful.
I just got the Diamond appraised at a Pawnshop and I’m in shock. I am going to run an add in the paper is anybody has lost a ring to call and identify it. IF nobody calls, I just hit the jack pot.

You can’t tell if it’s real without having a diamond expert look at it. For $30 you probably got a cz.

My half karat 18 kt gold is worth about seven hundred, so you know that this one is worth a lot…I like your honesty in putting an ad in the paper,…you could have been decietful and just kept it. I found a couple of fishing poles that probably cost a lot, that it looked like some one or ones must have gone to jail or got drunk and left them there. It was tempting, but I turned them over to the police dept. and they told me I could have them if no one claims them in three months. I almost think that turning them into the police dept is better, because unless is really identifiable, anyone could try to claim them. At least if you put an ad in the paper, and no one claims them, you would feel like you at least tried to do the right thing. Good luck and kudos on your honesty
