sweetie, sit down and talk to your lady. $50,000 is a whole lot of money to spend on a ring. Talk to her. Explain you want to spend that on her ring, But show her other options. I swear no one but the two of you need know that the ring is a CZ if you get a good quality CZ. And then take that money and put it into a home. Keep the CZ a secret between the two of you. And you can get a dynamite ring for a couple hundred dollars with a silver setting; a couple hundred more and you get gold for the setting. And then take that money and put it into a house. You will have so much more from it. I know. I am older, and diamonds may be forever, but a home is something to really treasure. Talk to her. She will be reasonable when presented with the choices. You want to start your lives solidly. And after all is said and done, no one will ever know whether this ring is a real diamond or a CZ. Go to the best CZ retailers around and look at the stones. They shine, they sparkle.

Both Tacori and A. Jaffe make gorgeous engagement rings. Of course there is always the Tiffany ring, that is a classic. Good luck!

DO NOT get a CZ ring for your girlfriend!!! That’s just tacky no matter what other people in this forum think!
Tiffany has beautiful rings! The best thing to do is to get an idea of what shape ring she might like. My friends fiancee (before they were engaged) took her to a jewelry store with him to purchase a watch and they just happened to look at some rings too. This way, he was able to get a feel for what she likes! After you know what she likes, Tiffany is the way to go, and will work well with your budget. Congrats!

My husband got my rings from Tiffany and I couldnt be happier! Soon as I saw the little blue box, I nearly fainted.

Wow.. sounds like a lucky girl you have. $50,000 is quite a bit to spend on a ring… the general rule is to spend 2 months’ salary but many people spend more… maybe up to 6 months’. If this is still your price range then definitely go to an independant, neighborhood jeweler. They have many designer ring settings to choose from like tacori, a. jaffe, kwiat, and simon g… and you can pick the diamond you want to put in it. I’m not exactly sure… but you could probably get between a 2 and 3 carat flawless or nearly flawless and colorless diamond to put in your setting. Its also a good idea to bring your girl with you to go ring shopping since there are so many styles out there… or you could just go for a solitaire if you know the diamond shape she wants. On every occasion like birthday, anniversary I buy form same company for which i get loyalty gifts once i got $390 fashion ring free ( without i actulally ordering it) while my total purchase for the year was only $2000
