You do not have a problem. Go to any jeweler who is a qualified appraiser of diamonds. They will appraise your diamond at current replacement value, which is all the the insurance wants to know.
No, your ring is not worthless. In fact, it should be worth more now than when you first got it. Ask the jeweler if he/she will map your stone and will that be part of your appraisal, for future identification purposes.
