Is your right hand ring finger to show that you have a promise ring?

No the right ring finger doesn’t mean anything. Only the left ring finger means you are taken.
It depends on the the rings as too whether it looks right or not.
I would put a ring on my ring finger and either my pointer or my thumb.

i used to wear rings on both my right hand & left hand, but i always got beef from guys & girls asking wtf (virgin, promise ring, taken, married, gang member, knuckle busters, & etc.)? now i just sparingly put on my rings; people like labeling others & making false assumptions. chances are no one will tell you / ask you a thing, but be prepared to give an answer when asked. any finger is fine really. i used to like wearing mine on both ring fingers (to keep it symmetrical,) but society is just so *ugh* so i stopped. now i wear one on my right ring finger & the one from the left ring finger goes on my right thumb now. yeah.
