   the way my boyfriend gave a promise ring to me was:
   he bought a cute box and put pictures of us all around the inside of the bx, and on the bottom, filled it with my favorite candy, than on top of the candy, he folded stars and filled it. in the middle, he cut out a heart with plastic and put the promise ring box all the way on the bottom, and covered it with stars. than he left a letter saying “will you be with me forever?”
   that box was delievered to me during 6th period by his friend. and after sixth period i walked out and than he appeared out of nowhere and kissed me.
   it was the cutest thing and we are still together and happy^^

   My now fiancé gave mine to me on Christmas day. He slipped it out of his pocket and opened it up and he told me that this ring was a symbol that one day we’d be husband and wife. And a lot of very sweet a personal things I don’t feel like sharing over the internet.Trust me if she loves you and you love her it wouldn’t matter if you were in a dirty old truck or the most glamorous restaurant in the world, it’ll be special. Maybe you could take her to a favorite spot for the two of you.

   By the way promise rings are not at all to get a girl to put out like one answerer suggested. Most young people give promise rings because they’re promising to have a future together but they’re not old enough (18) or don’t have to money for an engagement ring. My engagement ring was very much larger then my promise ring. I got mine to give my parents the chance to get used to my fiancé and I being engaged.. a chance for them to understand that we were in it for the long haul.

Also, you’ve had a few people on here saying that promise rings are b.s and they aren’t. It depends on your situation, my partner wants to marry but i’m not comfortable with the marriage thing because my parents divorced after 35 years and my older sister divorced after 19 years, so i wanted to make sure that our getting married won’t change anything. It’s not til you find something better, everyone has their own reasons and people should respect that. So my ‘promise ring is a beautiful diamond ring i wear on my ring finger and he has one too, so to strangers we’re taken.
